OVERVIEW

Project Timeline: 2022-2024
Funding: Lead Agency Project Funding (SNSF-South Tyrol)

Work Package 1 : Design of Smart Mobile Factory and Logistics

Description:

In Work Package 1, a physical prototype will be designed to empirically validate the SMF's ability to supply essential products/components such as tunnel rings and hyperloop tubes to infrastructure construction sites in a demand-responsive and eco-friendly manner.

The following researchers are related to WP1:

Patrick Dallasega, Erwin Rauch,  Ali Asghar Bataleblu, Andrea Revolti, Felix Schulze

Work Package 2 : Integrated Digital Twin Modeling of SMF and Logistics

Description:

In Work Package 2, a digital prototype for the smart mobile factory will be developed to meet specific criteria: the storage of diverse data types, automation of information flow, and analysis of process and design data. This aims to achieve seamless information integration across the fabrication site, logistics, and tube construction location.

The following researchers are related to WP2:

Daniel Hall, Ranjith K Soman, Pieter Pauwels, Jianpeng Cao, Irfan Čustović

Work Package 3 : Dynamic Life Cycle Assessment of SMF and Logistics

Description:

In Work Package 3, dynamic/agile Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) will utilize data sourced from the SMF, product stock and flows, and construction site sensors enabled by Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. This integration aims to facilitate adaptive strategies in design, fabrication, and construction processes to minimize ultimate environmental impact.

The following researchers are related to WP3:

Habert Guillaume, Edwin Zea Escamilla, Jianxiang Ma

Work Package 4 : Proof of Concept and Business Modelling

Description:

In Work Package 4, the business model will be formulated. The deliverable will consist of a strategy for the medium-to-long-term commercialization of the project outcomes and the practical implementation of the approach.

The following researchers are related to WP4:

Daniel Hall, Patrick Dallasega

Work Package 5 : Project Management and Dissemination

Description:

In Work Package 5, logistics for physical exchanges and workshops will be coordinated, collaborative work processes will be established, and manuscripts detailing project outcomes will be published or submitted.

The following researchers are related to WP5:

Ranjith K Soman, Jianpeng Cao
